Grandma Crane's Persimmon Cookies

 

    I had the best Grandma Crane and Grandad. My Grandma was a really good cook and one of the many things she made was persimmon cookies. All of us kids would ride our bikes to Grandma's house, and we would be treated with persimmon cookies.  My grandma and grandad are both gone now, but the recipe will live on, and this is one way that I make it happen. So, I present to you my grandma's cookie recipe. 

                                                        

 

Grandma Crane's Persimmon Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 C Butter

1 C Sugar

1 egg beaten

2 C flour

1 tsp Baking Soda

1 C Persimmon Pulp

1 Tsp Cinnamon

Dash of salt

1/2 C raisins (optional)

Directions

Cream together the butter and the sugar, add your beaten egg and pulp. Mix well.  Add flour, baking soda, dash of salt and cinnamon. Now would be a good time to add raisins if you are using them. Add by drop full onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees till done.
